Where I want to be.
Now I’m currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in the Barbican centre, London. I want to further my expertise in production and Studio Recording to eventually make a living off what I love. I’ve worked on a large variety of projects during my time here, focusing on growing my artistic image and unique sound.
Collaborating with artists, directors, designers and other musicians has become commonplace amongst my studies and creative works, only progressing from where I have come from.
Where it Began.
Who Am I?
My real name is Olly Louis Mathura O’Keeffe, but my credited name is ‘olterior,’ a producer, composer, and sound designer from London. I thrive on delving into a wide array of genres and styles ranging from intricate music and immersive soundscapes to mainstream tracks crafted for music libraries and commercial purposes. I have worked on: Public installations, including lighting and immersive experiences, Production libraries, Film and theatre scores, Orchestral compositions as well as Sound design for digital designers, festivals, and short films.
In future, I want to continue doing what I have immense passion about. Gaining interest and knowledge in the music industry and furthering my understanding of the creative and artistic development, in order to build my own image.
My interests haven’t changed since I began production and studio work as a hobby, I want to be alongside artists and musicians to make their art the best it can possibly be. Whether it be using my skills in mixing and mastering, expertise in recording and engineering or talents in creativity and production. I want to be involved in the creative journey and work alongside others as they put their creativity and talents into the works I can help make.
Where I am.
Eventually, I was able to record large projects for his personal projects and school, featuring talented students aged 11-18 across multiple disciplines and genres; from steel pans to live bands - only furthering mu expertise and interest to a point of study in the future.
After joining Sixth Form, my interest in parts of music separate to classical training only grew. Eventually leading to educating myself on Sound Engineering and Production. I started to understand different technical equipment, taking care of community and school owned studios and inviting students to recording sessions.
I began making music from playing piano at the age of 11, being pushed into the widely normalised curriculum of classical training. This however, due to a discontent with curriculum, drew me away from the instrument where I began to focus more on percussion and drums as a choice; performing in Rock, Pop and R&B bands until the age of 17.
